Well, it looks like I have Friday off unintentionally. So now my dilema is where to fish? Afternoon, evening, night? I will not know if my early morning is free until tomorrow. I was toying around with Mattawoman Creek, but was thinking of Bushwood too (maybe croakers are in?). Other options are open. I just want some pullage. Hmmmm..... maybe I can make another crabbing trip if the fishing decision does not pan out.

I'm probably bias, but I think Mattawoman on Friday should be interesting. The FLW pro bass tournament circuit is going on the Potomac this weekend, and there should be a lot of pros out at Mattowoman from Thursday until Sunday. I think I may add a pair of binoculars to my packing list, and do a bunch of reconnaissance in Mattawoman sometime this weekend. After this good rain we are getting, I bet the bass are going to stack up as far back in Mattawoman as anyone can get. I wouldn't be surprised if the pros are stacking up there also on Friday.

I'll be at Mattawoman friday if the weather is nice. Taking my dad out for the first time.
Most of the the bassmasters will probably head downcreek from the launch. Some for sure, will go up, but since they're targeting largemouth, all the other fish are there for the gettin. Downside is the boat traffic and them muddying up the water, but if you got far enough upcreek, you can find good lonely spots.
I like PotomacTide's suspicion that the bass will stack up far up the creek. Hopefully though, the bassmasters will not.
I went farther than I've ever been up there on Saturday... it stays pretty deep (6-8 ft) pretty far back, so, yeah, they may go back there with their speed boats.

I had a bunch of white perch last trip eating everything I threw in the water from the Friendship Landing launch on Nanejmoy Creek....they are fun to catch on 4 pound test UL spinning tackle....same story for me with croakers- good fish on ultra light....they make a pretty good meal of fried fish, although I like speckled trout better, but that is just me.
With the regular striper season opening today- I want to try for some top water action around Southern Maryland this weekend...professional fishing tournaments just crowd things up, push local tax paying anglers out and kill a lot of fish. I just try not to mess with any of them, although I did register to fish the Chesapeake Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament this year, I see that more of a fun, charity event than hard core competition."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
