  • The day finally came

    Hello all,
I have been religiously checking this forum for the past 2 months. I just finally got a new Hobie outback. I have fished several times with FRED DRIVER and we have many more trips planned. I rented a revo a few times and I can tell you from a fishing aspect the outback is the way to go for sure. If you have any questions on my experiences with either please let me know. I appreciate all the great info all of you provide. This community is just great to be apart of. Good luck and I'll be sure to try and get a LM before the end of the month.

Last year I had to decide between the Revo and Outback. Never tried either of them on the water, but I knew the pros and cons of each. I only sat in them at Backyard Boats. Took home the Outback. Never regretted the decision. Great yak on the water. Welcome to the dark side.

Tufnik--do you do much yak fishing in the immediate NOVA region? I was home visiting pops this weekend in Springfield and we were struggling to decide where to go. Ended up trying the upper Potomac just downstream of great falls (too muddy and high to be productive: 1 LM, 1 SM, cat, bluegill) and then went to the upper occoquan reservoir near bill run park...caught a few but all smalls. Woulda done other Potomac stretches if the FLW wasn't going...

                    Fred,
Most of my fishing is to Norfolk/Virginia Beach. I also like to go to Lewes (Delaware). Yep, 3-4 hours of driving one-way. Locally, which is within an hour and a half of driving one way, I go to Bay Bridge - East, Mattawoman, Pohick, Leesylvannia, Metapeake and Occoquan. PLO and Clairborne each are about two hours away. There are many other local places.
