My truck had been loaded for Black Drum fishing – meaning a trolling Rod/Reel. In the Saturday morning, I found that I could fish, so I went to Breezy Point for just for trolling for striper.
This was an unplanned trip. The NE wind was too much at the marina, so I headed for Point Lookout State Park to fish in the Potomac River.
One the way to the park, I bought a small bag of salad shrimp, a package of size 1 hooks, and some sinkers for Croakers. I trolled for three hours with over-sized trolling rod/reel. There was no hit during the trolling. But I found a school of croaker @12-15 inch at the same place (usual spot in May) in 28-30’ of water.
