  • Smith's Marina

A couple of months ago, someone discussed the possibility of getting some kind of discount from Smith's when launching a kayak or canoe.
$20.00 is a bit steep when you are not launching or parking a trailer. Their comment to me last year was they were charging me $20.00 to park my car. This was on a Wednesday and their lot was empty at the time.
Has anybody contacted them about this?

Last winter I contacted Smiths to see if they would offer: a) group discount rate for the MKF and/or the Severn River Rod and Keg Club, and b) if they would allow kayakers to use their ramp during the winter. I spoke to someone in the office who told me they would check with Mrs. Smith who would call me back. Mrs. Smith never called me back.

Even though Smith's Marina is only 10 mins from my house, I can't bring myself to spend $20 to launch a kayak there. I occasionally launch my center console there (never on a summer weekend though).

      Thanks for trying!
After reading Woody's report about Hopkins and Maynadier Creeks on Tidalfish, I thought that I'd like to run the canoe up there, but its a bit too far from Jonas Greene or Weems Creek. At that price, I'd just as soon put my center console in at Truxton and motor up there, but that kinda defeats the purpose.
How about the private beach up on Valentine's Creek?
