I am dropping off my father at St. Michael's this weekend. He is sailing on the Pride of Baltimore II from St. Michael's to Baltimore Harbor. I am planning on staying the weekend out there and getting the yak in the water. Maybe off of Wade's Point. I have never fished this area and would greatly appreciate any hints, insight or input. Also, I would be willing to drive a bit if there is a great spot near that area. If anyone would like to join me this weekend, send me a PM

If you drive a few miles past St. Michaels then turn left, you come to the small town of Neavitt. It has a public launch (free for cartop boats) that leads out to the north shore of the Choptank. Last fall, I fished in the creek where the ramp is located twice and caught my first ever Maryland speckled trout. I also caught several nice rockfish along with some blues and perch. That was in October not June. I do not know what is biting now.
Or you can launch near St. Michaels or at Claiborne and paddle up to the Wye River. I don't know the ramp specifications or fee requirements for these ramps. This would give you access to some fishy shorelines in part of Eastern Bay plus the Wye River is very scenic too.John Veil

Bellevue landing is nice also. Leave the ramp up towards the right and work the edges (crankbait for stripers). Best fishing there seems to be later afternoon, early eve. I have not been there yet this year, but might hit it this afternoon or Hoopers Island, which is 30min longer. Free parking if car topped. Enjoy.2012 Hobie Revo 13'
