  • Knots - Braid to Fluoro leader?

Anyone suggest a good knot for braid to fluoro leader that goes through the guides smoothly? Strong but small in diameter

I've been googling around, just curious to see what you guys suggest

    Thanks in advance!

I like the Albright Special for this purpose.

A triple or quadruple surgeon's knot works well. How smoothly it goes through the guides depends on the lines used. It works pretty well for 10-15lb braid and a 15-20lb mono or fluoro leader.

I use the Sebile knot for all my Braid to leader connections. No bend in the leader and super strong. works kind of like a chinese finger trap. Tricky to tie at first but easy with practice. Super Slim, never had one hang on my guides.

Wow, that Sebile knot seems kind of insane...

I always use the uni-uni or Double Uni knot:

            Albright.

If Im going to a big diameter leader, I tie an overhand knot at the end of the leader, then tie the braid on using a uni. The uni cant slide over the overhand knot.

I use the triple surgeons knot and the double uni. They are both easy to tie and cast well. I probably use the triple surgeons knot the most, as it is easy to tie out in the kayak.

fishingknots.com is also a good place for knots.

I've never tried the Sebile but it looks good. I'm gonna have to give it a go. Thanks.

I go with a 6 turn surgeon knot for light braid to flouro, works well if you clip it close. Alrbight for bigger stuff

Uni-Uni for me. I will have to try that Sebile. Seems like a good knot for tying the night before but if u break off I don't think I would take the time while on the water to tie it again I would just tie a Uni-Uni

I never knew there were so many variations, wow

x2 on the sebile, I'll have to try it out

I've been using a J knot, but it seems too bulky with small eyelets

Also, netknots.com is a pretty sweet site
