    I don't have an anchor trolley but always thought one would be nice. It's basically so you can drop anchor from any point along the length of the yak. This is important for holding your position relative to the wind/current. You may want a certain orientation and if you just have a single tie down, you are at the mercy of the conditions. I really don't anchor too much anyway which is probably why I never pulled the trigger.

      I purchased an anchor trolly over a year ago when I thought I needed every gadget for my Hobie. I am sure there are times it might be useful but I have not installed because I haven't been in a situation where I said "wish I had an anchor trolley". Would fish for a while before you decide.

        I wouldn't think of anchoring without a trolley. Places like the Susq. River and OC Inlet have really strong currents. Maybe my kayak isn't as stable as many but if I tied off my anchor next to me it would pull me under in heavy current.
