Will they let you launch from the beach? I thought there was a jelly net up around the beach? Anyhow, I'd be there with you too, but you know... THE JOB thing seems to get in the way too much. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out. I live in Chesapeake Beach and plan on just dunking in off the ramps at the West Marina. I hear the guy there will probably work out a deal with me for a whole season pretty cheap rather than pay the $5 each dunk.

The Slackdaddy family and the Fry family launched off the beach last year and had a great time. You just have to carry your boat to the outside of the jelly net....worked slick...here's photo evidence!!

Very cool! I didn't realize that there was an opening there to launch from. I'll have to keep that in mind. Keep us informed if you guys go again.

Launched at ~6:00AM, they opened the gate for us and we had a 100yd carry across the beach.
Went about 3/4 mile out where it dropped from ~6' to 16-18', drift anchored. double bottom rigs with squid, shrimp, blood worms.
Nothing liked the squid. small croakers and spots (6-8") on the shrimp and bloods, this went on for 2 hours or so.
School of stripers moved through for about an hour, breaking top chasing bait fish, had my ultralight with a 1/16oz roadrunner and 2" grub twisty tail. if they were breaking top, I cought a 8-12" every cast, then they were gone.
            Came in at noon.
