  • Boiling Fishing Line?!

Has anyone heard of doing this? Here in Mexico a guy just showed me that since the lines here are pretty terrible quality he boils the line for 5 mins to make it more supple. He fishes with a hand line but swears by it. Apparently when it's on his "spool" it also spools tighter and comes off of the spool much easier. He throws a 1oz cast master about as far as I can cast one with my inshore rods so maybe there's something to it? Anyone willing to experiment?
