Beautiful weather and a not so beautiful bite on the 9th
Fished the pier with a bucktail, fished the break wall drifting shrimp trolling bucktails and ratl traps using a bottom rig with fish bites etc with nothing to show, and then about 11 I got my first bites with my spot rig drifting shallow water south of the pier. After missing about a dozen small bites I finally catch a mullet. The skunk was off and it was time for lunch so I headed for shore tucking the mullet in a bag for later. After lunch I decided I needed to get my revenge on an almost fishless morning so I went back down to the pier and launched again. Chunk mister mullet up and catch sand shark after sand shark with a snapper blue in the mix. Decide I need to try for some more bait so I start using my spot rig and catch 4 spot over the next hour and then work my way back out deep near the peir and anchor for the night bite. Right at dark I get a hit on my live lined spot and bring in a 16 inch flounder
Figured I was on to something but no more bites on the spot or a tipped bucktail over the next hour. Decide to call it a night and headed for shore. Slept in my car at the park & ride at 50 and woke up right on time to hit the BB at sunrise.
Sunday morning. The water was rippling with bay anchovies when I got there and I worked my way out to the bridge looking for spot. An hour later and 2 spot in the yak and I decide trolling bucktails and jigging Bass assassins was a better idea
Started working my way out the east bound span and the birds and fish show up right in front of me. Catch 3 schoolies and move on looking for some larger fish. Throw my BA right against a pylon and wak, a nice 22 inch football takes some drag and then comes to the boat! Start thinking I am on to something again and fish for the next hour with only one more schollie. Figure it was time for the spot to make an appearance so I start live lining across the space between the bridges. Half way across a little line gets pulled out and I reel in half a spot
Guess there are still some blues around. Work over the to the east bound span, drop spot number 2 and with in 3 minutes have another 18 inch football beside the yak! Jig some and then head to shore looking for spot. Another half hour without a bite and I decide artificails are going t have to work. Head back out jigging the pylons and trolling until I come to pylon 31 where I had got the 22. Drop the BA right against the pylon on the up current side, let it drop, and then jig. Bump, dang he missed it, jig jig, hooked up!! Felt like I had a whale! Quick little run and then he just took off!!!!! Couldn't slow him down! Unfortunatly he went on the north side of a pylon and the current insisted I head south
Oh well, tried jigging some more but couldn't by another bite in the next hour. Headed in and got some lunch and came home to take my first shower since friday morning and sleep in a bed for the first time this weekend. What a great weekend even if the fish didn't completly cooperate
Good fishin
Chimo

We started on Friday night 11pm and got lost. We didn't get to CHSP until 3am. It was dark and we were tired. Anyway to make a story short we overslept, got lost finding a bait store outside CHSP, purchased fishing licenses, ate breakfast and we got to the water 10:30am. Sorry we were not familar to this area. I still couldn't believe they ask too much to get a fishing license. It was a nice day though. We got about 9 baby sand sharks (dog fish), a over 10 in croaker but lost while trying to video, a couple small spots. We got in at 1p to meet M&G group and we are not allow to get in the Camp so we went out for chinese food. We came back and talked to a guys who had a mohawk style haircut. He got a nice 19 inches tautog using sand fleas. So we went to bait store outside CHSP and got a half gallon green crabs, togs hooks to see if we got any luck. We got to the water around 4pm and wanted to fish along the structure at red light house for togs. I felt it was nippling but then I got stuck. So I kept fighting to get it out for a while. Finally I got it out. It was a big toadfish that I have never seen. I got couple of them like that so I gave up. we got in around 7pm and met another kayak fishing. He said he went out to the white light house in ocean side. He showed us he didn't get any but a big toadfish but it was 1/2 size of my toadfish and we told him not to keep it. He is a college student. Nice to see Sam and talked to Jimbo. I am sorry I couldn't see the rest. I am trying to figure out how to post pictures.

I found it. it's closed by. I am going to use live bait. Alwives, spots or squid. I think they have everything we need.
MetroMan, When I see your kayak on top of the car, I can't think straight at work. My mind is somewhere at fishing place. lol

Thanks, I saw the longest pier there. I think I know where it is. I have another question if you know. I and my friend are trying to buy a 7 days licence but they ask too much informations: Social security, address, phone and DOB. I don't like to put all that infos online so I backed out. We hope that we can get the license at bait storse in Delaware. Is that possible to get it at bait store in Delaware? if so, anyone knows where.
any hints is fine. I will search online. Thx

Hey chirotrout ask as many questions as needed, we all started some where and are all still learning new things. I'm trying out a Ocean kayak big game I borrowed from the shop. Not rigged at all just some rod holders.
