  • Commander 120 vs Ride 115

I am in the market for new boat that I will be able to stand in that also is relatively small . The commander 120 and the ride 115 are both in my price range and are available from Hook 1 with free shipping. From the little research I have done both get good reviews, but I haven't tried either one. I think I prefer the commander due to the option of the higher seat position and lower weight. The ride is over $200 cheaper though. I just wanted to see if anyone on here has used one or both and what they think of them. I'm especially interested how the stability of each compares. From what I've read both should be easy enough to stand in, but I'd appreciate hearing any first hand experience.

Haven't personally used the Ride 115 but a friend has one and loves it. I did have the Ride 135 and had no complaints. For its size the Ride 115 has very good weight capacity and I've seen first hand it's stability as well as maneuverability. It is very nice Yak. I recently bought my first Hobie but can honestly say if I ever buy another paddle yak I will look at Wilderness Systems first. Personally if I could buy the Ride 115 for $200 less than a T120 that's what Id do without hesitation. Just my thoughts. Good luck with buying a new yak.
