  • Redfish in PLO - Aug 25

    Well,
I got a call from Kevin before I left home. Kevin was already there, and told me that PLO looked very bad.
While driving I I heard Bill’s message about the weather.

I didn’t think Kevin fished outside the lake. I was wet and cold. When I was wearing rain suit, Kevin came back from Potomac River.

We fished Lake for a while but. We caught some small spot and small croaker.

A couple of hours after Kevin left, I was cold. When I was coming back for more cloth, Bill came with a cup of hot tea. The hot tea was the best tea ever I tasted.

We decided to fish for redfish. Small redfish were there for us. Even though they weren’t keeper size, We had a great time

      Kevin,
I never thought you would fish Potomac River outside the lake (on a regular paddle kayak) for hours before I got there. The wind was too much for a regular paddle kakak.

I was freezing in the morning. I had a wetsuit jacket in the truck and wore it inside the rain suit when Bill arrived. If I don't make to CHSP, due to bat weather, I may hit Buzz, PLO or Piney Point depending on the wind direction.

I have fished in worse wind with Ron...though that was at St Jerome's so I could get out of the wind from time to time. I have paddled in worse wind with Bill while chasing pickerel on the Severn.......and TODAY I got caught in the worst yet, just ask Bill and Ron! I did catch fish, however. Here is one...
That is the good thing about my tandem, it may be hard to paddle, but it is stable in even the worst conditions. I'm waiting for someone to leave me a hobie in their will, LOL.

Any time you head to St Mary's Co. give me a call...

Nice video, Joe. My folks will get a kick out of it. Give me a holler the next time you're down this way. If Sunday evening is any indication, the action at Piney Point may be heating up.
