Great video Moc! Everything you need to know to go out and catch some crabs for dinner. Thanks for posting.

Thank you very much. It is an excellent video. You cleared out all my questions. Now I have no excuses, but building the system.
I have a question. I was worry about getting turtled when a big wave hits the gunwale while the gunwale (either side) is tied to the Trot line. Getting turtled is OK but loosing crab on the basket is not. I didn't think my Revo or Adventure is suitable for crabbing compare to Outback. Were you stable when hit by 2-3 foot boat wakes?

Like Moc said, if there are too many waves it makes it really tough. It's enough when boats pass by. I feel like I'm probably shaking crabs off the line when that happens.
As far as turtleing, I have trouble seeing that happen on my outback. It would have to be a really big wave.

Hey Moc, the anti crab escape feature on the basket is a great addition. If that basket were on a boat and the crab escapes it is not as big of a deal, but like I found out last weekend, when they do escape a couple of things can happen, most of which are bad. They can fall into the water, they can fall in your lap or they can fall into a safe little space by your feet.
I also cut the chicken necks in half. I find they catch better than the larger pieces anyway. I don't know why this is, but I've experimented with this and the big pieces of chicken seem to go untouched more often. It seems counter intuitive. Do you have experience in trying different sizes of bait?
It looks like you have a hook to pull the line over the propstick in addition to the net. I just use the net to lift it over. It works pretty much the same way but you can save yourself from carrying an extra item...unless there's an additional benefit to having the hook.
As usual, good video man.

I use the hook since I had it when running a trotline out of my canoe. The hook really comes in handy since if telescopes out farther than the net. I use the net sometime like you, but using the hook prolongs the life of the inexpensive nets. Using the net over a period of time lifting the line and sometimes the chain shortens the life of the net by making it weak and loose where the ring of the net connects to the pole. The pole hook I use is great to when having to reach to the back of the boat to free the trotline from getting caught in my rudder when I am pulling the trotline in and the current gets weird on me and the line and my rudder meets. Also if the current is alittle strong and I do not quite line up my approach to my float to lift the trot line over the prop, then it is no problem with the hook. It really hooks the line and I can just increase its length to grab the trotline and pull it towards me onto my propstick..

I've gotten that line stuck in the rudder. Ah man, that is frustrating!
