I've really taken to using superglue on my soft plastics. Put a dab on the jig head and the soft plastic will stay put, regardless of barb/collar design. I don't think the fish care, but I don't like the look of those triangular heads on the BKD style lures. They are more designed to be used with swim shad bodies.

I like the look of these:

I think I'm doing it right just not sure now after reading some of this. Maybe someone can give me a lesson on Friday or Saturday at the CBKA Tourny.
      medicyaker,
If you take jigs in 3/4-1.5 oz with 4/0-6/0 hooks you should be pretty well covered at the bridge. You want your jigs to be making solid contact with the bottom.

          Tom,
If you stay with the drift you can go 1/2 ounce. I prefer to go light as possible, and 1/2 does the job most of the time. If the current is a bit stronger, 3/4 to 1 will do. If you jig deep, about 30' or more, then go heavier. Again, depends on the drift and current below. You'll have to feel it out. Also, when you touch bottom, lift it a foot or so to jig. If you stay at the bottom, you increase your chances for a snag. Again, you have to feel and "play the bottom."

          Veil,
          Give it to Moc.

Moc, can you pay him? I think I'll cash in on last year's bait (blue crab) money you owe me
