  • Newbie @ Downs ParkTargeting Blues?

I have been invited to go kayak fishing at a Downs Park Saturday morning. This will be my first kayak fishing adventure, and I'm really looking forward to it. My friend wants to target blues. I only just started getting into fishing, and I normally fish freshwater. The few times I've gone to the salt have been from the pier simply using top-bottrom rigs with nightcrawlers/bloodworms. I would appreciate any advice on setup/rigs/lures/bait/area/etc. I hear cut spot works well, but I'm not sure how to rig that. Just use a top bottom with a 1/0 hook? Any help would be appreciated

Just load up those top/bottom rigs with cut spot, you'll do OK. If you want to troll use a crippled alewife or small tony spoon. drone spoons are popular too.

Thanks for the tips. I think I have something similar to an xrap that i'll give a try. I always wondered, is it better to filet or steak cut bait?
