It has been an interesting year for fishing, not just in the bay, for me. I have been fishing the surf down at the beach quite heavily this past month or so and the abundance and variety of fish has been quite amazing.

The surf is loaded with puppy drum and black drum. I haven't seen a fall with puppy drum on the surf in as long as I can remember. black drum usually run during the spring.

Pompano, crevelle jacks, flounder, whiting, croakers, spot, bluefish, stripers, puppy drum, black drum, bull red drum, numerous species of shark have all been caught this fall. I'm surprised no one landed a tarpon or cobia from the MD surf, at least that I know of.

Certainly an interesting dynamic that is going on. I don't know what it is but I really like it.
