Good to know it wasn't just my vantage point. I'll try that next time.

I just got a Penn 710z off SOL that I plan on turning into a pennstaal this winter. Need to work on making it a manual pick up or might try going bail-less. Not a big fan of the bail potentially flipping down on a hard cast. Either way... it's destined to make a surf trip at some point soon. I was thinking of heading down for the drum run if I can find the time...

I've tried to take videos and pics of the snotty conditions I've worked in while on various research cruises to show my boss how much it sucked (some gear types don't work well when it's rough, but he never believes me if he's not there), but they never turn out right. I'm not sure why that is. I did get one good video where I kept the camera steady on my buddy while the horizon jumped up and down in the background, but that was the only one that got the point across.

I'll have to try to remember that next time bc my camera made it look almost nice out there. I think if I adopted Joe's (Friday/ComeOnFish) method and wore a helmet cam it'd work better. I think I might put a camera on a ram ball and just leave it running some during a trip. That'd probably capture some interesting stuff with all the waves coming over the front of the boat some days.

Memory Maker got a cool waterproof video camera - I'm looking forward to seeing some film from him once he gets some time away from work
