  • good fishin spots

Hey guys.. with the weather coolin off and all the rockfish are bitin pretty well. Heres my question... whats a good spot to put in with a kayak thats accessable to the good spots where there biting? Seems like the best bites takin place by poppin rocks off the bank. Only spot i kno of is the severn naval academy which ya need a special pass to get on. Supposively the perch are in deeper water now so jiggin the piers like i always do will most likely be a bust im guessin. Thanks for any help/ suggestions!

There's some discussion along similar lines here

Based on Shawn Kimbro's posts on chesapeakelighttackle.com, the area around Kent Island and Matapeake can be good. I suspect the jetties around Chesapeake Beach, North Beach, and Breezy Point should hold fish as well. Looking at Google Earth around the areas you fish for points, jetties, creek mouths, and ledges should help key you into likely good topwater/shallow water spots.

If you use the ramp at Kent Narrows or even park in the lot there, you must have a Queen Anne's County permit. You can buy a one-day pass ($10 I think) or an annual pass ($35 I think). The permit allows you to use any of the county ramps.

There are various spots on the eastern shore where you can buy them. If you are coming from the western shore, you can conveniently stop at Anglers and buy the permit.
