  • Rapala Electric Fillet Knife

This was one of my favorite purchases this year so far. I used to dread bringing home a bunch of panfish. Now I don't mind one bit. It cost me around $45-$50 at Bass Pro. There was a learning curve with getting a feel for finding the backbone. But with some practice, it becomes really easy

I made the vid on my phone.

I have a friend in Chesapeake Beach who fishes almost every day and keeps all the legal sized fish he can. He used his electric knife hard for several years until he burned up the motor.

I rarely keep perch or other small fish, but if that is your interest, the electric knife can save a lot of time.

Looks good and efficient metro. What program did you make the video with? I have the same knife my dad gave me last christmas but haven't used it yet. Might need to break it out after my next trip.

Can you plug that thing into your kayak batteries? Then you could fillet 'em as you catch 'em!

great video. does the knife need sharpening every once in a while like my regular filet knife? This might be something to put on the list for Santa.

LOL I really could. My yak can be a fish catching & processing vessel.

The blades are serrated, so I dunno if they can be sharpened. The set comes with replacement blades. I havent had/used it long enough to get a dull blade yet

I'm too much of a naturalist to go electric. It's all in the art of knife...

How fast can you clean 20 perch with the electric vs you doing with a regular blade?

Lets have a race one day with 2 chainz playing in the background for Mytmouse. haha lls
