Has anyone tried using Gulp Peeler Crab for Tog?

All gulp is the same smell, just different shapes. I do not think gulp for tog will work, but who am I to say... Blue crab is probably the best bait followed by shrimp. Clams and fiddlers are also good baits.

im a big fan of shrimp for tog. its a lot easier to manage than blue crab or fidlers. i've never heard of anyone catching tog with gulp, but im sure it can be done. Best bait will always be fresh shrimp, crab or clams.

I tried for a short while and didn't get a bite. Shadyfisher also told me he tried, got a few small nibbles but no hookups.

Bluecrab is the best. Stays longer on the hook and many second chances.

I don't think I ever seen a report where someone has caught one using Gulp.

Looks like a good deal on a tog rod - http://www.ffo-tackle.com/detail.cfm?PassProdId=5943

I have heard of people catching them on gulp (including some crazy fish caught on chart. swimming mullets) but they are definitely not the primo bait. Some days it just seems like they are suicidal and will bit anything. Other days they'll only take a very specific kind of bait.

Redfish is right. That does look like a good deal on what could be a good tog rod.
