Personal apologies for not doing this earlier...
Hi my name is Mustafa and I recently joined the forum after I bought my first Kayak! It's a funny story where I went from "thinking" about getting a Kayak to getting one that was "in my dreams" (Hobie Revo 13) all in about 2 weeks!
I got into fishing at the end of February 2012 (trout) and immediately got addicted! I can finally relate when someone says "I'd rather be fishing!"
Inspiration kept being fueled thanks to a gentleman with genuine videos about his fishing excursions (ComeOnFish). His videos are really awesome and his genuine nature is very refreshing. They are my go to videos for stress relief LOL!
I joined a local fishing forum where there were a mixture of kayak and non-kayak fishermen. I posted questions about tips and advice on Kayaks and started getting help from many people. I owe great gratitude to two individuals who got me Yak fishing, Osprey and Redfish12. Osprey jumped on my thread and shared the killer deal that Easton Cycle and Sport was having on the Revo 13, and Redfish12 was offering to take me out on one of his Revos, since I've never been on one. When I was chatting with Redfish12 on the phone, he assured me that the deal on the Hobie was a phenomenal one and I should jump on it. So I did!
Ryan from Easton Cycle and Sport was awesome and very attentive, I totally recommend their service. Redfish12 made it exponentially better by coordinating to meet at the Wye river to show me the ropes on my new yak, and brought his other Revo for my friend (2 hour car rides are so much better with someone to chat with ). http://www.snaggedline.com/showthrea...ver-10-13-2012
Needless to say it was a blast and like I said on the post, that the picture with me and Redfish12, although blurry, is going to be in my memory for life!
So now I'm addicted to Yak fishing and look forward to meeting and learning from many of you on excursions to come. Drop me a line anytime you feel like sharing a memory with a new kayaker
Thanks for reading
