  • Hobie Revo in Shallow Water

I am toying with the idea of buying a Hobie Revo 11. From all of the reviews I've read on-line, it seems to best suit me and my preferences. However, the one thing I'm concerned about is its ability to handle shallow water. I mostly fish the Upper Potomac in the Lander area. Does anyone have experience with the Mirage drive system in this type of setting....shallow water, rocky bottom, etc. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated...Bruce

either do short strokes with the drive while the fins are against the hull, you can actually still move a pretty good pace. or just break out the paddle

most people paddle up there because of the rocks .......... the fins can be brought up against the hull but many rocks are not seen and there are many rocks. The Revo acn be paddled easily and the mirage drive can be used in the pools between the dams ..... deeper areas.
