  • Occoquan Wednesday 11/21?

AbuMasgouf and I are planning to fish for some crappie on the Occoquan this Wednesday. Is anyone else interested in joining us?
We'll be launching from Occoquan Regional Park's kayak launch around 9AM.

I was there from 10 to 2 today, and the fishing was slow, I got 1 small crappie and 1 small LMB. But I'm optimistic about Wednesday =).

I am going to be down there fishing on Friday for the majority of the day. The crappie gods have been good to me lately.

Best advise i can give is fish the docks, pilings, rock piles and bridges. Use 1/8th to 1/16th oz jig heads and Smelly Jelly always improves catch rates when the water is cold.

There are crappie on every piece of structure on that river the trick is finding the schools of slabs.

            Good luck.
