  • Where can I buy Minnows in MD?

Does anyone know a place where you can pick up minnows year round (besides Anglers)? Looking for a place closer to DC.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the info Matt. That is actually on the way home for me. I never realized that was there. Is that the same shop that use to be by Wayson's Corner that you could see from route 4 in that strip mall?

        quikdrive,

This is a different one Matt is referring to, on 260. The one you could see from Rt 4 near waysons in the strip mall was "C&EJs". My dad used to always take us there when we snagged while fishing down at the lil pier at Waysons lol.

+1 on Clydes in Lansdowne on Hammondsferry Rd. Call them at 410-242-6108. I've been buying live bait there since I was a kid. I grew up in Baltimore Highlands. A rare shop indeed. Still a mom and pop store. The store is on Hammondsferry Rd between Hollinsferry Rd and Lansdowne Rd and parallel's the railroad tracks. Good prices as well.

I got some at Anglers on Sunday. A few were large enough that I almost got a good fight reeling them in after a cast.

i catch my own . in the summer i only use one trap but in the winter minnows are a little scarce so i set out 2 traps. i put in dog food from my dog and it works great. i have tried catfood and that sucks. other good minnow baits are crushe dblue crab (cant ge tit in the winter) and hot dogs are great also, if you know of any place that has shallow water then i would suggest catching your own minnows
