That's really awesome Joe! I can only imagine the possibilities of your videos now that you've broken into the underwater world!-Mustafa

You should try getting a very small waterproof camera. I've seen people attach these to their lines right at the bottom and you can see the fish actually eat the bait and get hooked. It wouldn't work for jigging, but you could probably set it up for trolling too.2010 Hobie Revolution 13

Makes it more interesting when you capture both underwater and above water scenes at the same time with the two cameras. Good job!
Are you eventually going to troll the camera down deep right behind the lure as you jig for flounder? ....lol... heck of a challenge....2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

Nice work! Have you thought about mounting the camera so it is always under water? This way you can just reel the fish in normally and pull it near the camera.

The biggest obstacle is that the waters I (will) fish are not clear. For the first experiment, I went to Lake Anna where I can definetely catch enough fish. And also the visibility in Lake Anna in winter is about 4-5’. The visibility in Upper and lower Chesapeake Bay is about 3-5’ in summer. I check with my paddle. If I can clearly see the paddle blade 7-8’ down, I will attempt to do spearfishing.
The possible waters are CBBT, Kipto and CHSP when the water is cold.
Thank you for the advices. I am thinking how to mount the underwater camera on the kayak. I saw MOC ‘s camera mount and AbuMasgouf’s Transducer mount. I need to be able to put the camera on the mount and remove from the mount very fast when needed. This is a big challenge.
Capturing the moment of setting hook underwater is nearly impossible at this point. We are on kayaks. There are strong currents and wind. We know it is very difficult to jig vertically with heavy sinkers and jigs in 20-40’ of water when the current and wind are strong. So dropping camera is more like trolling camera. Perhaps I put a release clip on the camera and the trolling fishing line on the release clip. Then put the bait or lure 3 feet from the camera.
If we are in Florida, it is very doable if two are fishing. One dives and waits. In clear water, we can see where the bait or jig is and the possible victims are. But here with the poor visibility, it is nearly impossible. The only possible place is inside of a Concrete Ship in April when the water is clear or CHSP in May, October and November.
At this point, I am trying to fish in clearer waters whenever I have time and catch at least 5 fish per trip
