  • Best date for February M&G

Since Shadyfisher85 can't organize the Feb M&G at Havre de Grace on the Susquehanna, I'll be handling it.

I don't know if we already had a date set for it, but let's see what works best for the most people.
    30
    Sat. Feb. 9
    20.00%
    6
    Sat. Feb. 16
    26.67%
    8
    Sat. Feb. 23
    53.33%
    16

    The poll is expired.

The 16th doesn't work for me but the other two do. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to my first M&G

Well, if were going to move it all the way back to the 23rd, I could make it and probably organize, but since I've already stepped down. Ill let you take the lead Mike! Hopefully the fishing gets better. thinking about trying againg saturday if the water is in ok shape.

Yep, yellow perch. There may be a few stripers hanging around, but I'm not sure.

If we end up doing it the 23rd, you can have it back Ryan. Also, we could have a M&G every saturday this month... why not.
If you go this saturday, I'll join you.

I'll be up there every fishable weekend in Feb so it doesn't matter to me. The more the merrier.
I did want to hit the water tomorrow but if you look at the rivers, they are all flooded. The wind is going to be whipping up too which makes it hard to fish up there.
So this weekend is kind of washed out.

Also, I think the 23rd is getting kind of late for them. The first two weeks of Feb are usually the best for me. They should still be up there at that time but I wouldn't consider it prime time

Yea, I think YP fishing tomorrow on the susky would be a bust, maybe I ll just stay closer to home and search for pickerel on the severn.

                      Quick question...

Would I need a MD tidal or non-tidal license, or could I use my VA saltwater license with MD saltwater angler registration?

I found the DNR diving lines map, but honestly I didn't find it to be very clear...

                      Thanks guys!

This is the way I interpret (not saying I'm right though). From here: http://dnr.maryland.gov/service/fish...se.asp#CBCSPFL

                        Reciprocity
Virginia saltwater recreational fishing licenses with a Maryland/PRFC registration honored in Maryland tidal waters are:

                        •Individual annual license
                        •Individual temporary (10-day) license
                        •Private boat license
•Charter boat and head boat licenses (covers all persons fishing on boat and a registration is not needed)
                        •Lifetime saltwater Recreational Fishing License
•Special Lifetime recreational Fishing License for the permanently and totally disabled
                        •Special Combined (FW/SW) Sportfish License
•Rental boat license (covers all persons fishing on boat).

The susquehanna below the Conowingo dam IS considered tidal water so I'd say you are ok?

Alright, looks like Saturday Feb 23 is the most popular date.

It also seems from Yak Fish's report that the perch are late or bothered by troubled waters, so it may be a good thing that we do it later rather than sooner. That said, it sounds like there will be yakers there every weekend until then too, in case you're not able to make it on the 23rd..

Ryan, since it's later than expected and you'll be around, you wanna take over and start the official thread?

I should be good for the 23rd also. Put me on the list. Just let everyone know where the launch spot is and the tentative time to meet up.
