  • A Question about Anchor Trolleys

Just wondering what side you guys install the anchor trolley on.

Right side. But that's because my FF is on the left and I don't want them interfering with each other. I think you can put it on any side... personal preference.

Last month I fished in Tampa with Neil Taylor, a kayak guide who is an endorsed guide for Native Watercraft. Most of the area where we fished was shallow flats. I had not previously thought of using an anchor under those conditions, but it did work out well. Neil had trolleys rigged on both sides of the Native Ultimates we used. His website has videos showing how to install a trolley and how to use it. I found both to be useful.

Mine is on the left side since I keep my paddle on the right side. Just like anything you rig on your kayak, it is all about what works for you.

Everyone should believe in something... I believe I'll go fishing.

I just put 4 cleats (on each quadrant) on my kayak so I can just clip onto them whenever I want. Since I don't anchor much I didn't want an extra set of ropes to get my stuff caught on, like a treble hook.
