  • Anyone going out Monday?

I am looking at getting out somewhere close on Monday. The weather looks decent. 11mph winds, sunny, 42 degrees. So where is everyone going? Severn Creeks? Patuxent? Southern, MD?

I am going to work but you have fun and catch some fish.

Everyone should believe in something... I believe I'll go fishing.

I'm also going to be busy with spring sport (lacrosse) tryouts, but good luck.

I think that I will launch from Waysons or Jugs Bay in the morning. At least that is my thinking now. Hight tide around 10:08am.

I think I have settled on launching from Jugs Bay in Upper Marlboro, MD. Judging from the tides, I will launch in the morning from Jugs Bay around 9am so I can ride the current north and work the area for perch. Then I will ride the outgoing current back to Jugs. Anyone is welcome if you do not have to work. Just post of PM me today. The address is :

          16000 Croom Airport Road
          Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
          301-627-6074

CarTop or non-trailer kayaks are free to launch. Park opens at 8am.

If everyone has to work and I feel lazy, I may decide to pick another location and shore fish, since I will be at the M&G on Saturday hunting the yellow perch.

              Martin -

Last year you and I fished there on Feb 22 -- hopefully the fish will be in residence tomorrow. We launched from Wayson's Corner and paddled downstream to the fishing hole. The bite was not fast and furious, but we did pick up a few. We met MyTMouse there too.

I would consider joining you but I have a conference call at 10:00. Have fun.

Seems like everyone in the area has to work, so I think I will just test the waters and fish from shore at Wayson's Corner, while preparing my kayak for the M&G on Saturday.

It is mighty cold this morning (16 deg at my house) -- many smaller water bodies that do not have a strong downstream freshwater flow will be frozen over. You should be okay at Waysons Corner.

We were out there at the pier for awhile. It was me, Grady and SurfDog until we bolted to other locations to search for fish which Surf and I eventually found.
