I'm really liking the new Avet SxJ that came out and I am also looking at the Curado and the new Abu Revo reel (one of the two at BPS). I know that these reels will serve better for different purposes, but I am just trying to fill my arsenal for the upcoming fishing season. Currently have Avet SX MC and a Calcutta 201b. Are these reels good enough to pull the duty for jigging for stripers, live lining spot, maybe casting some lures?
Second part of the issue is that on other days im not on my kayak I will probably be fishing the jetty's at IR or OC. I have gone through 3 cheap reels already fighting tog. I have put into consideration a Saragosa 6000 for this purpose do to the quick current in the inlet.
I know my options are all across the board, but any suggestions might help.
My main target species usually are tog, flounder, stripers, hopefully drum (havn't tried yet).
