Minnow users... Do you guys use bait buckets (Frabill)? I know some Hobie guys sometimes put bait fish in the well where the mirage drive goes (since there is a little pool there), but would minnows be too small for that?-Mustafa

Carrying a bait bucket is great, but it does get in the way. I have in past when wade fishing taken a dozen minnows from the bucket and placed them in a Planters Peanut plastic jar with a screw on top -- I could carry that in my pocket when I waded out. Even now when I do carry a minnow bucket in my kayak, I remove a handful of minnows and set them in the molded-in cupholder on my kayak. It is quicker and easier to get a fresh minnow that way. They are remarkably hardy creatures and are fully frisky even an hour later.
If you plan to keep them at home over several trips, you probably should get a regular minnow bucket.John Veil

If anyone is going to Anglers to get minnows before the M&G can you grab an extra pint of minnows (I'll pay you back)? I know John is sharing some of his so I wanted to lift some of the burden from his shoulders and contribute some more to share with everyoneLast edited by AbuMasgouf; 03-05-2013, 08:16 PM.-Mustafa
