When the annual meteor shower peaks, I usually set my alarm so I can get up and watch- Living close to DC makes the show less bright due to the lights from the city, but it is cool to watch- A few years ago I went spring bear archery hunting in Quebec- the night skies were awesome- the northern lights were going crazy- almost like a light show at a rock concert!

I caught a quick glimpse as I was out walking at @ 7;50 pm. Beautiful, bright white and turquoise and much larger than a shooting star. Didn't really know what it was until I saw other postings on it.

I saw about the last 5 seconds of it,it was like the light that comes out of those small propane torches for welding pipes, green in color.its weird because you could'nt compare something next to it to get a scale of its size.In other words I could'nt tell how close or far it was, really strange.( I think that, and
            the color threw people off)
