  • No catfish at Bushwood...what a change from a year ago

On this weekend last year, Surfdog let slip that he had killed the Cats at Bushwood wharf. Crab pots were in the cove and I went out on APril 3 and killed 'em. The wharf was full of guys trying to catch the first croaker of the year........nowtoday

Not another person in sight. No crab pots, no catfish, NADA. No one even THINKING about croaker. Good exercise though.

Spring is on indefinitely delay. This time last year folks had already mowed their lawns, some twice. Last year on March 21, all the Bradford pears were in full bloom along I-70, I-270 and the Baltimore Beltway. Dunno, are the Bradfords even showing any white at all yet??? They weren't as of last Saturday23. Bradfords are nasty spreading exotics that wasn't supposed to spread... but when they bloom they sure are purdy and when they bloom all is forgive for a week or two.

Yep- cold waters and temps are definately delaying the arrival of fish and spring planting- I have pushed back my first groundhog hunt by three weeks- headed up Monday for a day of shooting in southern PA- usually be this time I have two or three hunts under my belt- cold weather delays everything-

Crab pots can't go in till Monday. They'll put them in, but doubt any crabs are moving yet
