Decided to give the Tog another feeding in OC this weekend. We left home around 5:00 pm on Friday night and arrived at the rt 50 bridge around 8:30 pm. We fished the bridge hard until 1:30 Am and managed to land 11 stripers from 24" to 27". Although we didn't manage a keeper They were all footballs and put up a hell of a fight. Its amazing how much stronger ocean run stripers are over their bay run cousins.
We hit the bridge again on Saturday morning at 6:00 AM with a bucket full of green crabs. The wind was howling and it was COLD . I picked up my Under armor base layer, A nice cap and gloves on Friday afternoon. This stuff worked great and is lite and thin. It should be the perfect base layer with the addition of a fleece 2nd layer in the Kayak. This only part of me that was cold was my Face. Might need to get a ski mask for the windy winter days on the water.
The fishing was not great but we did manage 1 keeper at 14" and several throwbacks before the weather got the best of us at 1:00 PM.
