I was thinking of going tomorrow10 but the wind predictions spooked me off. Winds ESE 9-13mph gusts up to 21mph on the Flats will be coming from the worst possible direction. Any other direction, W, N or even NE would be slightly better than ESE. Wind and waves coming from the S have the whole Bay to build up a head of steam.

See my report about Fletcher's in the Freshwater section.
I saw lot's of guys with very heavy tackle fishing for Cats from shore and from the rowboats.
Didn't see many caught, although one guy unloaded a basketful of fish from his boat. I wasn't close enough to see the species, but the color indicated cat fish.
Didn't see any Stripers caught, one group started fishing for them up at the rocks at 5:00 a.m.

No permit needed to launch at Perryville Community Park. You do need to be aware of official sunset, that is when they lock the gates. Very nice launch into Furnace Bay.

I fished Fletchers today from shore, 4-10-13, 11:00am - 2:00pm. Nice hickory on first cast at 11:00am (fish on 1st cast = kiss of death). And sure enough, the second fish didn't come in until 1:00pm. Third hickory at 1:45pm. Packed up and went home. So, hickory fished sucked today, at least it did for me. Maybe the early morning guys did better. Saw several yakers there fishing a little ways above Fletchers.

I'm blaming the clear water (6'-8'), bright sun, and mid-day arrival as the 3 culprits that contributed to my lack of success. Hickories are notoriously flighty went the water is clear and the bright sun is high in the sky.

I'm looking forward to reports from anyone else, especially those who decided to fish the Flats today.
