  • How is going out this weekend and were?

I am not sure what I am doing this weekend. I am trying to figure something out since I have Sat-Monday off! I am more interested to catch something other than catfish that I can eat. The only thing that comes to mind in the area are white perch. I do not know how the crappie are biting. I will admit that I have not had too much success with them. I have heard that good size white perch are biting at Hillsboro, so somewhere in Fort Washington. Anyway I need some eating pullage.

So what does everyone have on their agenda?

Was just going to post a thread also. Initally I was going to try the WW bridge for cats, but with the cherry blossoms I think the traffic will be bad. For the time being I am thinking about fishing crappie at Occoquan (as always) although I fear that the water will be to cloudy to fish so I will see. However I might also try for WP if you go...what lures were they using?

Moc....Both catfish and white perch if you launch out of Marshall hall. Easy Paddle up to where they were catching fat perch on Pier and surf and right there is where I had an easy time catching blue catfish...I might even be enticed in to meeting you there

        Martin -

If you want to splurge and buy a plane ticket, you can fish with me in Tampa Bay on Sat. I have kayak fishing trips lined up there for Fri (all day) and Sat morning. Then I drive to Sarasota where I have another trip lined up for Mon or Tues.

Kevin, if that is a current report on white perch, then I will definitely want to try that location. I never fished that area before. Let's touch bases and set this up. I really want some fat perch to cook. The blue cats will just add to the pullage. Are there crappie there too? Just curious..... It will be good to fish with all of the other kayakers....

It all depends on the weather on Saturday in terms of the Winds. I have never fished there before, but Kevin has. Kevin, can you post the address of the launch? I know he said that it was not too far off the beltway down Rt 210...so close for everyone. So far the winds are for Sat WNW at 10 mph . Seems to be getting better since a cold front is coming through on Friday.

yup was at 15 mph at the beginning of the week. If the conditions are fine what lure are you going to use?

I might try a worm under a bobber, toss beetlespins, metal jigging or trolling, and the typical jighead with plastic curly tail and paddle tails. Raw fresh Chicken tenders for catfish too.
