  • Lost: Mirage Drive, P'ville Community Park?

I can't believe I am typing this. Im 99% certain that, on April 6, 2013, I left/lost/dropped/misplaced my mirage drive at Perryville Community Park. It was a long day on the flats, and maybe it bounced off of the kayak as I was dragging it back to the parking lot?

At this point, that is my best guess. If anyone finds it, hears that its found, or wants to share stories of lost/misplaced items in an attempt to make me feel better about it, please feel free.

    Damn.Damn.Damn.

(I actually felt like I was forgetting something....)

If you haven't already done so, I would call the operators of Perryville Community Park and see if anyone turned it in.

Last year I lost a st Croix mojo bass and bps reel at the park coming in from the flats! I would pass out if I found out how much money I’ve lost to the water! Good luck but sad to say it’s probably gone.

offer a reward if all else fails ......... it's a speciality item that few know what it is or could use

Not much consolation, but that outback should be easier to paddle than a pro angler.
Sure hope your drive shows up.

Give them a call. Be sure they are aware you may have lost your drive unit at the kayak launch near the Veterans Hospital... and NOT at the big boat ramp located farther up the Susky River.

I hope you can find it. If you cannot locate it I might have a used one for sale in the next two weeks. I am getting a 2013 kayak on warranty and want the newer mirage drive so I will have an extra.

Thanks everybody. Hasn't turned up yet. But reading docirv's post and request for prayers does make my post seem really trite. Its a minor annoyance and if I dont find this one, I will replace it. Thanks yall.

Did you go back to look for it? It may be just under the water when you pulled it out just waiting for you there.
Where exactly did you launch...the sandy kayak launch in Furnace Bay?

To make you feel better, on my first trip ever to the flats I lost a fishing rod that was one I'd used growing up. It had a lot of sentimental value, but is now somewhere near the VA hospital covered in years of sediment.

I left two mirage drives at Ravstown Lake in PA. Had to drive 3 hours there and back to retrieve them. Then, I went to the hardware store with my drive to get a bolt. Left it there, searched high and low before I thought to check there. Thankfully, there were honest people at both places. Bummer about yours.
