May 11th is the 2nd Sat. Since this is Mother's Day weekend, I'm open to moving it around if necessary. I think J-Bay is the following weekend so that probably won't work. You guys (and gals) let me know, I'm open for either one and can't make it to J-Bay.
For those of you who didn't make it last year, this is mainly a white perch trip but there are usually a few Stripers around as well. The crabbing is pretty good there for those of you who want to crab. Instead of going out to eat at a restaurant or bar, we come back to my house and cook up the catch. Last year we had more than enough and quite a bit of food went home with people.
I think the way we handled the food/supplies worked well last year so, unless there are better ideas, we can do that again. I'll supply hot dogs and fixin's along with a side, some basics, the house, and the grill. BYOB. We will need a steamer, fryer, oil, seasonings, more sides, etc. Please post what you want to bring so we don't end up with 20 bags of chips and nothing else.
We can launch at Herring Bay like last year and there are a couple of marina launches in North Beach or Chesapeake Beach you can use if you want. I think it's $5 to launch at the marinas. The launch at Herring Bay is TINY and parking is very limited but we managed quite well last year. Those of you with trailers may want to hit a marina launch (Rod N' Reel West) so you can easily park. The best spot to fish for the perch is the oyster bed right off of Holland Point between the Herring Bay launch and North Beach.
