Everything chartreuse seems to get hit faster than white bucktails- Blue heads with silver milar strips mixed in the white skirts seem pretty popular...and these are some really big baits being trolled- all the bucktails (jigs) are dressed with eight inch swim shad bodies

Here's the forcast for SPSP for the next week. Wind is a bit high (5-10 knots), but suirf is only 1 ft. DO you guys think it's save to go off, 200 yards off the shore and drift??

Dude just get out there and make your own judgements. That is the only way you will find out what YOU can handle, and what YOU feel comfortable fishing in. It isn't the same across the board. Myself? I won't hesitate to push the limits. I know what kind if wind and waves I am comfortable in.

Here's what you do. Go up to spsp. Put in at the ramp. And paddle out to the bay. Once you get out of the cove/protected area, you will get a better feel for yourself and abilities in the kayak. If you never get that "oh shit" feeling, go catch some fish! But if you feel that feeling, stick to the edge where you feel safe.

The only way you build that confidence between you and your yak, is to, well use the damn thing!

Bottom line, everyone is different. Otherwise there'd only be one model kayak and fishing reel. That would just suck.
