They're talking about the Kayak Fishing Classic at Jamaica Bay, Brooklyn, NY. I think it's about a 5-6 hour drive from DC.

I put 'fishing on Lunesta' on my bucket list. I can go for that kind of slow!

How far is the beach launch area from the camp site? Yak-pulling distance or need to drive?
Does the camp site have electrical outlets? Shower/restroom facilities?
I've never driven up that way, so what's the best time to avoid traffic driving from DC up I-95? Thurs or Fri 9am-3pm? After 6 pm?
What's the best route through Baltimore?
Do you guys plan to do night fishing?

No license required. Cool. I guess we need to do the NYS Recreational Marine Fishing Registry, though.

So far, the following are going:

                  Grilled
                  stupidjet
                  Bulldog
                  BigFluke
                  Pinch
                  Chimo
                  Redfish
                  Sparechange
                  Tufnik?

I'm going to try to head up on thursday evening. Looking forward to some ny fishing. This will be my first trip up there. Would one of you guys who are going to get there earlier on thursday mind reserving me a spot for truck and tent setup. thanks, Ryan

Ok, worked it out. Am signed up and did my DEC marine registration. Will be there Thurs afternoon. I hope to be on the water by late afternoon. Don't know where the heck to fish since it's my first time on this big pond, but will have to figure that out. I guess a safe bet is to jig the pilings on the Flatbush bridge. See you guys out there.
