Anyone fishing the flats today for closing of the Rockfish season? I will be out this afternoon after work, hopefully on the water by 4:30 (high tide is around 5:30). I have seen a few positive reports of people catching stuff so I am going to give it a shot and try to salvage the terrible season I have had out there.

The wind was kinda nasty earlier in the day. But by the time you get there (or got there) wind should be manageable. Let us know how you do. If the weather stays coolish I'll be looking forward to the reopening of the Flats to striper fishing on May 16... only 2 weeks away.Howard

Went out only for a few hours and got skunked. The wind was still blowing pretty good when I hit the water, after taking a couple good waves and getting soaked I fished for LMB closer to the shore. No way I was going out too far on a day like that.
At least the slow fishing has given me time to finish all the big spring projects around the house. Now I have more time to fish.Mike
