  • Photos of kayak rod holder set ups

    Hi all,

I have a used Hobie Mirage kayak (tandem) without fishing rod holders. I don't want to drill holes and wanted to get some ideas or pictures of what kind of set up you all have been using.

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Here's my setup. I finally think I have it the way I want it. The extender arms can be removed on the fly when not trolling. Also have the YakAttack BlackPack crate that has 3 rod holders.

What is that rod holder in the back? Is that something you add in the flush mount rod holder?

Here is a picture of a fishing setup for baitfishing- I change out the rodholders depending on what kind of fishing I am planning on doing- trolling is setup a little differently than soaking bait

I didn't want to drill any holes either! This is what I came up with:

That's a sweet setup! I wish I had the time, skills and space to learn how to weld and fabricate custom pieces. Seems like it would be fun and satisfying to make something yourself that makes a job or activity easier.
