New to snaggedline

New to kayak fishing and new to snaggedline. Fished the Magothy river today between 12 and 4pm ,caught 2 dozen white perch and 3 yellow perch, tried spinners and plastic grubs, they would not bite until I started vertically jigging at the end of the piers. Fished out going tide near dividing creek.

White perch were 7-8 inches not big and yellow perch 7-8 no keepers
