Sorry for the late post, but the CCA Tournament was fun. I was fortunate to get 2nd place in the Kayak division, considering how the morning started off for me. I launched from G-Dock with Coop, and as soon as I got outside of the marina and I was half way to the bridge, a cable on my Hobie's Mirage Drive broke. Oh no... there goes my fishing plans. No trolling for me. Also, I cannot stay out in the mounting current and chop as long as I wanted. Well, I stored my Mirage Drive in my hatch and broke out the paddle. The Revo with the rudder down, paddled surprising well. I ended up catching two keeper size fish while jigging in 15 feet and 35 feet of water. I came back to shore by 9:30am. Yeah that was early, but I could not deal with the current any longer. I was able to call Backyard Boats at 10am and Dennis had the replacement part that I needed. So, while everyone was still out fishing, I ran over to Annapolis and Dennis fixed me right up. I was Back on Kent Island by11:30am with a repaired Mirage drive. Thank you Backyard Boats.
The award ceremony was at the Jetty Restaurant. The MKF group occupied two tables. The food was good and who can complain about the all you can drink beer.
I will be back next year.
