  • Powerpole Micro

I knew it was only a matter of time before they came out with a kayak applicable power pole.
    Well here it is:

On one hand this is a neat device, especially if you have very little on your yak already. On another hand, this is an additional 10 lbs., not counting the battery and actual spike (which is sold separately for some reason). With the added weight of the 12V battery and the increased "clutter", I would pass. With all my saltwater gear/water/food for an all day trip, my OB is heavy enough most times. IMO a park-n-pole is all you need in most conditions. But it does prove that the sport is growing enough and people are accessorizing enough to market something like this. Pretty cool nonetheless.

          *raises hand*

Stake out pole is bulky and noisy in shallow water.

I put a broomstick through a scupper hole. Works great.

Cost: Free. (Borrowed it from my mothers broom)

Too many $$'s for me, I'll stick with my bamboo stake out pole. Neat though

Just had one of them........ Why didn't I think of that moments!!

But they need to come up with a cheaper version before it sells good imo.

I have the Yakattack parknpole and hardly use it because I don't fish in shallow water too often (or atleast not where I'd want to stay in one spot for very long). I won't be lining up to get one, just though it was a cool idea.

My disassembled paddle works fine thru the scupper hole as a stakeout type device. Had to do that in the jbay tourney last year.
