DIY PVC Hawg Trough... somebody must have done this before...
Saw some pics of people just sawing a large piece of pipe...


This is from a smaller diameter piece I had on hand...
Cut a horizontal slit...
heated it up in the oven at 300'f for about 10 minutes...

Flattened it out... etc etc...
Just add fish :-) or a "cat-fish" in this case.

Here's the one I made from a scrap piece of pvc pipe that must have been at least 10" to 12" in diameter. I cut out a section and screwed it to a board so that it fits snuggling on top of the center thwart of my canoe. It can be removed in seconds. I stuck on a plastic tape measure from BPS but I had to make the numbers bigger/bolder with a black sharpie pen so the numbers show up better on my camera.

@ HJS : If I had a piece of bigger pipe I would have done similar to what you did... although I do like it "flat" because
it fits in smaller places.

@ DonV the holes are made with a circular hole drill bit... grinding smooth the hole's edges is the most time consuming step.
Before the holes I didn't like it's weight.

If I didn't have the PVC, aluminum piece for the end, and the tools just laying around I would have bought one.

Heating up the PVC is neat.. I'd never done it before. It becomes very very pliable.
If your first attempt at flattening it out doesn't work just stick it back in the oven and it will go back to its original shape !
