The Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association proudly announces that registration is now open for the 9th Annual Kayak Fish for Charity Tournament supporting Heroes on the Water and Project Healing Waters.
The date is Sept. 28, 2013 and the tournament headquarters will again be the Lake Wright Conference Center and Hotels in the Tidewater area of Virginia. (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, etc)

Last year, through the generous donations of our sponsors and the great support of the participants, we drew a record number of anglers (275) and had a 50% in increase in funds raised for record amount (over $15,000) which went directly to our charities.
As in past year’s, this year’s tournament will feature a slam and several species divisions (redfish, speckled trout, flounder, striper, and largemouth bass). This year, the youth and female anglers will compete for slams in their respective categories.
Once again, Hobie Kayaks has agreed to be the anchor sponsor with a grand prize for the slam division being a Hobie Pro Angler kayak, valued at over $2500.
Other major sponsors on board include Appomattox River Company, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Hook1, Hurricane Kayaks, KayakBassFishing.com, Kokatat, Native Paddlesports, Wilderness Systems, Wild River Outfitters, NuCanoe, Yak Attack, Yak-Gear, and many more. We have some new major sponsors that will be announced in the future, so stay tuned to this website and/or our Facebook updates to see who else is on board. Great prizes and raffle items will be available. Early registration includes a tournament t-shirt, awards ceremony meal, and raffle ticket. (bonus raffle ticket for paid TKAA members) The first 125 paid entries receive a Hobie Kayak captain’s bag with lots of great items.
