    Hi,

I would really appreciate it if you would let us know (write a report or send a PM) about your fishing adventure because myself, Mark, and On The Fly plan on going there Monday morning.

    Thanks,

image.jpgimage.jpgWell a change in plans made me end up going yesterday 8-3. Launched from Mattingly Park around 6:30am. I saw a bunch of people on kayaks and a lot of boats, I paddled up stream and fished the lily pads, I had a couple swirls but no hits. I stopped at steel wall and did some catfishing. After catching 6 nice keepers I went back to bass and snakehead, paddled up to where creek splits off to three small creeks before turning around. I talked to over 15 different boats and no one was catching much or anything big. I went back to dock to put catfish on ice and headed back out to the right this time. Caught a few perch and a small 14" large mouth. I figured I would finish off the day with more cat, my light rod started going off and was running drag, I went to reel it in and could not reel him in on light rod so I pitched my anchor and buoy and the fish ended up pulling me upstream for a bit before I got him in the kayak. 28" catfish which is my biggest catfish I have ever caught. I talked to a guy and his wife in a canoe that was the Friday night and they said they caught like 16 bass but no good luck yesterday. Still I had fun fighting the cats and will be going again soon to try for my first snakehead

Nice job on the blue cats- and they are delicious...my "go to" fresh water eating fish- my freezer is getting low on catfish so maybe it is time to get a refill...anyway you cook them they are good- blackened, fried, broiled, grilled, etc.
