If anyone is fishing in the bay anytime soon, and pulls up a Penn Fierce Rod/Reel, bass pro tackle box closed with ALL my tackle in it and/or a home depot 5 gallon bucket, please let me know. I went out on the bay for the first time Yesterday, Saturday, August 24th and rolled my yak. I had a cramp in my rear end, lifted myself up a little bit for relief and the next thing I know I was in the water. I am fine, but like I said, I lost most of my saltwater gear and that makes me sad.

I've lost a rod a few crab traps....nothing to do but live and learn. You will get lucky sometimes and bring it back up. Mark your FF right away so at least you can come back to it. I secure my crate to the yak with bungee cords and secure the top with another cord. After losing my rod I leashed them all, but that really gets in the way. Putting a small float may be less intrusive.

I don't have FF so that is out. I want to get one but I have to replace said rod/reel now before I can think about getting that. I am thinking about going back this weekend. I have Fri thru Mon off so I am up to fish wherever on any of those days. I have to figure a way to secure my stuff before then though lol.
