There is a regulated commercial lobster fishery off the coast of Maryland. There is also a smaller recreational dive operation there as well (OC Dive down by the inlet does trips if you're interested). There are no "lobstermen" in OC, like the one's you'd think of from Maine/Mass etc. The commercial guys in OC fish several species, lobster is just one of them. If you go to the Martin's Seafood market out in West OC, past Harborside on the left, you can get live Lobster caught off the coast of MD for a reasonable price (at least last time I was there it was reasonable). Every once in a while someone in the Coastal Bays will find a baby lobster in their crab pots.
You'd have to google it for a picture, but last year a Maryland Waterman brought in one of those rare Blue lobsters. I believe they donated him to the National Aquarium in Baltimore as well.
Captain Monty on the Morning Star is one of the foremost reef advocates on the coast. He does great work making artificial reefs out there which are home to some killer tog and seabass. Fun little side effect, Lobsters love the same reefs.Live every week like it's shark week.
