Permit required for?

Hey guys I'm an extremely new kayaker and I want to do things right. Do I need a permit of any kind to launch my kayak into the patapsco river? I like fishing belle grove ponds and all the channels. And what about the bay do I need a permit for my kayak there? Thanks

No permit required unless u have a motor. I think if u put a elec motor on u have to register the yak with the state.

You may need a permit to launch at certain launch areas for the bay. Queen annes county launch areas require one, except for Terrapin beach. As for the kayak itself, like surf dog said, reg. needed with a motor. Through DNR usually. If I'm correct that registration will apply for most states also that you decide to travel to.

I work not far from those ponds and I have always wanted to try them. I wouldn't want to haul my kayak down there from home though. How is the shore access?
